Expert Hair Theory

1

Porosity Matters

High porosity hair absorbs water quickly but loses it fast. Low porosity hair resists moisture. Your routine must balance this.

2

Scalp is Skin

Healthy hair starts at the scalp. Regularly clarifying your scalp prevents buildup and promotes thicker, stronger growth.

Seasonal Shifts

"Your hair's needs change with the weather. Winter requires heavy sealants, while Summer needs UV protection and humidity control."

Summer Goal UV & Hydrate

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I test my hair porosity?

Place a clean hair strand in a glass of water. If it sinks immediately, it's High Porosity. If it floats for a long time, it's Low Porosity. Middle is Normal.

How often should I wash my hair?

Straight/Oily hair usually needs washing every 1-2 days. Curly/Coily hair can go 7-10 days. The goal is to wash when you feel buildup, not just on a schedule.

What is a "Pre-Poo"?

It is a treatment applied before shampooing (usually an oil or conditioner) to protect hair from the stripping effects of cleansing. Highly recommended for High Porosity hair.

Can I fix split ends?

Strictly speaking, no. Split ends must be trimmed. Products can temporarily "bond" them together, but a regular trim every 8-12 weeks is the only permanent solution.

Does biotin actually help growth?

Biotin is great if you have a deficiency, but most growth is determined by blood circulation to the scalp. Regular scalp massages are often more effective than supplements alone.

Is heat always bad?

Not always. Using a diffuser on low heat can actually be better for some hair types than air-drying, which keeps the hair fiber swollen for too long (hygral fatigue).

Why is my hair always frizzy?

Frizz is usually hair reaching out for moisture from the air. Proper sealing with oils or serums after your hydration step is the key to stopping it.
